Samsung Is One of Kenya’s Three Strongest Brands in the 2026 Superbrands Rankings

Samsung has ranked among Kenya’s top three strongest brands in the 2026 Superbrands East Africa rankings, as the top electronics and top foreign brand overall.

Samsung has been ranked among Kenya’s top three strongest brands in the 2026 Superbrands East Africa rankings. It is the country’s top electronics brand and the highest-ranked foreign brand overall, with a Superbrands score of 89.622. For a company that competes in a crowded market every day, a result like this carries weight because it comes straight from the people who buy its products.

What the Superbrands Ranking Measures

The rankings are based on consumer evaluation of three attributes: quality, reliability and distinction. Together, they describe how well a brand’s reputation holds up and how consistently it meets expectations. The research was conducted by Kantar across 112 categories, assessing how Kenyan consumers perceive established brands. That makes the result an endorsement rooted in the market itself rather than a jury’s opinion.

Why Consumer Trust Matters More Than Ever

The Kantar findings show how much a trusted seal can influence buying decisions. According to the research, 86% of surveyed consumers are likely to purchase products or services that carry the Superbrands seal, and 84% say the recognition would increase their trust in a brand. A further 81% believe the seal helps brands stand out from competitors.

The numbers point to a wider shift in how people choose. Awareness and visibility still count, but consumers increasingly reward brands that deliver consistent quality, keep their promises and give a clear reason to be chosen.

What Samsung Says

Nyawira Muraguri, Head of Corporate Marketing at Samsung Electronics East Africa, said the recognition is especially meaningful because it comes directly from consumers.

“It is a confirmation of the trust we have built in this market and the expectations that come with it,” she said. “A strong brand is not built on reputation alone. It must be supported by the quality of what it delivers, the consistency of the experiences it creates as well as its ability to remain relevant as consumer needs evolve.”

She added that Kenya plays a key role in Samsung’s regional strategic ambitions, and that the ranking confirms the brand is meeting the needs of Kenyan consumers.

“As the country embraces new opportunities in digitalization and technology, Samsung Electronics remains committed to bringing innovation closer to consumers, supporting the country’s digital aspirations and creating technology experiences that make a tangible difference in people’s lives.”

A Consumer-Led Approach to Innovation

Across its range of mobile devices, televisions, home appliances and connected technology, Samsung says it continues to develop products that respond to changing lifestyles, improve convenience and widen the possibilities of connected living. That approach is tied to a broader vision of using technology to improve everyday experiences and create opportunities for people, businesses and communities.

With Kenya’s digital economy still developing, the ranking reinforces Samsung’s position in the country’s technology landscape and its ambition to stay at the forefront of that growth.
