Samsung Holds the No. 5 Spot on Interbrand’s Best Global Brands List for a Seventh Straight Year

Samsung has ranked No. 5 on Interbrand’s Best Global Brands 2026 for the seventh year running, with a brand value of USD 105.2 billion, driven by AI and record earnings.

Samsung has done it again. Interbrand, the global brand consultancy, has ranked Samsung Electronics No. 5 on its annual Best Global Brands list for 2026, the seventh consecutive year the company has held that position. Its brand value now stands at USD 105.2 billion, up from the USD 100.8 billion recorded in the previous ranking.

The announcement, made on 28 October 2026, carries an extra distinction. Samsung is the only Asia-based company to have remained in the global top five every year since 2020.

What Drove the Ranking

Interbrand pointed to three factors behind this year’s result. The first is record earnings, driven by focused investment in AI semiconductors. The second is stronger AI competitiveness within Samsung’s Device eXperience (DX) Division. The third is a customer-centric brand strategy under the One Samsung approach, which aims to deliver a consistent experience across the company’s products and services.

AI Chips Power the Business

On the semiconductor side, Samsung’s Device Solutions (DS) Division kept growing by increasing the supply of high-value memory products to meet rising demand for AI. The division also maintained its technological leadership with the industry’s first mass production and commercial shipment of HBM4, the next-generation high-bandwidth memory built for demanding AI workloads.

Everyday AI in Your Hands and Home

The DX Division, meanwhile, is bringing AI closer to daily life through personalised experiences and connectivity across mobile devices, televisions and home appliances. This year Samsung introduced the Galaxy Z Fold8, the eighth generation of its Galaxy foldable. It features a new form factor and a 4:3 display aspect ratio that Samsung says redefines the foldable category. The design resonated strongly with younger consumers while broadening the device’s appeal across generations.

How Interbrand Measures Brand Value

Interbrand is one of the longest-standing brand consultancies, and its methodology goes well beyond popularity. Each year it analyses a company’s financial performance and outlook, the brand’s influence on purchasing decisions and its competitiveness. The evaluation weighs strategy, empathy, differentiation, customer engagement, consistency and trust.

For East African consumers who use Samsung phones, televisions and appliances every day, the ranking is a useful reminder of the scale behind those products. Seven straight years in the global top five, in a field dominated by the world’s biggest technology and consumer names, reflects sustained investment in both innovation and customer experience.
